Tooth Extraction

Removing a single tooth is typically a relatively simple process causing minimal discomfort. We will prepare you for the procedure by explaining the steps involved, discussing appropriate sedation if needed, and making sure that you are comfortable before the extraction. To extract a tooth, we will release the two ligaments on either side of the tooth that anchor it into the bone tissue and gums. Once released, the tooth is rocked back and forth until it is able to be gently taken out of the socket. During this process, you may feel some pressure in the area. Once the tooth is out we will clean the area and pack the socket with sterile gauze to promote the formation of a blood clot and prevent infection.
